This past week SOS received a visit from Johnny Nuñez, vice-prefect of Ecuador’s Manabí province. Since 2011, SOS has been partnering with Manabí’s provincial government to provide rural clinics and governmental hospitals across the region with the medical supplies needed in order to provide quality care. Last month Johnny formally reaffirmed that partnership and began to make arrangements for SOS to send our fifth container to Manabí in three years.
The short video below tells the story of how SOS’s partnership with Ecuador’s Manabí province began. The video was produced in 2012, and since that time the number of countries SOS has reached has grown from 91 to 100, and to date SOS has saved more than 850 tons of surplus supplies and equipment from our landfills.
