“A local group is trying to make sure Jefferson County Schools have the items they need when classrooms reopen next month.
On Friday, SOS donated seven pallets of hand sanitizer which ended being more than 10,000 pounds of individual bottles.
The organization is also providing 4,500 face shields.
“The children who have been out of school for so long this is going to be a huge undertaking for them and their families and the school. So if we can provide some peace of mind by making sure that they have the tools that they need to keep everyone safe. we are very committed to doing that,” said Denise Sears, CEO of SOS.
SOS receives and redistributes surplus medical supplies around the world and in Louisville.”
